A New Resource--The Conscious Consumer Discussion Course Guide

Every time we make a purchase we are voting with our dollars – either for such positive things as our community well-being, fair trade, a healthier planet, livable working conditions and better treatment of animals, or,

if our ultimate concern is the lowest price, then we may unintentionally support practices that are not so positive. That might include growth of cash crops solely for export, which leaves local populations hungry and in poverty; toxic waste, factory farms, unfair labor treatment or even more contributions to global warming.

WiscPSA's Conscious Consumer Discussion Course promotes:

• dialogue--a meaningful exchange of information in a non-threatening setting

• understanding of the impact of informed individual choices

• exploration of values

• experimenting with activities

• fostering social support and teamwork for a better quality of life

This rich resource of ideas, links and learning strategies can be tailored to almost any interest level. You choose!
